| Friendly Triples between Yeovil - Bugle Blues - Plymouth The event organised by Dennis Pressley took place at The Den Bowling club, Teignmouth on Friday 1st July 2011. Each club entered two teams with Yeovil being represented by: Yeovil A. Terry Mathews, Nancy Cheeseman, Jo Spence and Rosemary Hurst. with helper Bill Light. Yeovil B. Ron Homer, Colin Stockford, Cecil Hill and Robert Hoare. with helpers Margaret Hill and Roy Gosney. We were very lucky with the weather enjoying sunshine most of the day. The morning game of eight Ends got underway at 11am and the spectators were treated to some excellent bowling. Unfortunately Yeovil A struggled to find their form and lost but Yeovil B just managed a win. This was followed by a nice lunch provided by the members of Teignmouth Bowling club. The good weather continued and two further games were enjoyed during the afternoon followed by tea and biscuits. The result was not important probably because Yeovil did not do too well although Yeovil B achieved joint runner up position along with two other teams. Thank you to Bugle Blues and Plymouth, we look forward to next year when we all hope to meet again. Grateful thanks to the members of The Den for their continued support of visually impaired bowling. |
